Over 200 skeletons unearthed at world's 'largest' child sacrifice site in Peru

Archaeologists in Huanchaco uncovered the skeletons of 227 children in what is believed to be the discovery of the world's largest child sacrifice site.
The pre-Columbian Chimu culture (1100-1400 AD) used child sacrifice to appease the Gods during El Nino weather patterns when heavy rains and floods battered the Peruvian coastline.
The archaeologists working on the site believe the children were aged between four and 14 and that they were killed during wet weather.
